All Aboard!
What's better than an afternoon of games, crafts and trains? Come watch the engineers run the trains in our famous HO gauge model railroad. Build your own model train and play with our new interactive train set. Children must be between the ages of 4 and 8; parents are not required to stay. $8.00 per child, drink and snack will be provided. Registration is required.

DuPage County and the Underground Railroad—FREE Event!
Noted author and historian Glennette Tilley-Turner will speak at the Museum for this special evening event. Glenette will discuss her research on the Underground Railroad in Illinois. Glenette began her research here at the DuPage County Historical Museum, and we are thrilled to welcome her back. She has served on the nine-member National Park Service Underground Railroad Advisory Committee and testified before subcommittees of the U.S. Senate and House and the Illinois Senate in support of Underground Railroad legislation. Her writings on the Underground Railroad appear in publications of the National Parks and Conservation Association, the Illinois State Library, and the Illinois Bureau of Tourism. Glenette is also the author of The Underground Railroad in Illinois, Running for Our Lives, Take a Walk in Their Shoes, Follow in Their Footsteps, Lewis Howard Latimer, Surprise for Mrs. Burns and the just published picture book, An Apple for Harriet Tubman.

President's Day Program
Celebrate President's Day with fun crafts and activities. Make your own log cabin, help create a President's Day mural, tour museum exhibits and join a scavenger hunt while you learn about George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and much more! Lunch is included.

Behind the Scenes at the Museum
Do you want to learn how a museum works? Come spend part of the day and work side by side with the museum staff. Get a behind the scenes tour of the museum, view some of the photographs and artifacts from the museum collection, interact with visitors and learn how to put together your own mini exhibit. Participants will also receive a certificate, special souvenir, and photo.

Availability:
Available Sat, Wed, or Fri during the summer from 9am-1pm.
Available Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm during the rest of the year.

Ages 8 and up

Cost:
