I stopped by the Wheaton Museum this summer and bought a copy of the book about Wheaton students who fought for the Union in the Civil War. I plan to post a summary of the book on my blog as my great grandfather fought for the South in the Civil War.

I am fascinated at the number of Wheaton students that left their homes to fight in the Civil War.

I really enjoyed seeing the museum and as you can see it got me to thinking about our shared history.

Thank you for allowing us to participate and attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Girl Scout display. This was a step toward earning our Celebrating Community Badge!

Thank you so much for the tour of the DuPage County Historical Museum. There was so much more to see than I ever expected and you had wonderful stories to contribute. The whole group enjoyed the museum, and we were glad we came. Personally, I enjoyed the Girl Scout portion immensely as I and all my children as well as grandchildren have been involved with scouting. Two of my grandsons are Eagle Scouts and three of my granddaughters have earned their Gold Awards-highest award in Girl Scouts. The G.S display brought back lots of memories. Thanks again for taking us on a trip down memory lane.
